Katie Botelho, CNM

Katie is a transient from California. She moved to Atlanta in 2003 to pursue her dream of becoming a certified nurse midwife. She graduated from Emory University in 2007 with a dual degree as a family nurse midwife. During her time in school, she worked as a labor and delivery nurse at Piedmont Hospital. Following graduation, she worked for a practice out of North Fulton hospital and then joined CIMA in 2011 where she remains part time. She also joined Kaiser Permanente in 2021 where she remains PRN. She joined the hospitalist group in 2024. As a former single teen mom, she knows the challenges and barriers that young moms face and became a midwife to empower women to take control of their health and encourage them down a path of success for themselves and their families. “Everyday it remains a miracle to welcome babies into the world. Pregnancy and childbirth can be a very vulnerable time for women and as a provider I try to be sensitive to each patients needs and concerns. I believe in open communication to make every interaction an opportunity for patients to participate in their care. I am honored to be apart of such a special time in the lives of women and their families I look forward to the opportunity to serve you.”

Outside of work Katie enjoys: cooking, entertaining, hosting international students, traveling, eating at new restaurant, working out, and spending time with her friends and family. She is involved in a women’s small group through her church. She has a grown daughter who resides in California with her husband. She is proficient in medical Spanish.
